The intricate, flowery nature of the language lends itself perfectly to amorous verse, and the history of lyrical love letters goes back centuries. There are four principle types of poetic Arabic love letter: The sacred, the profane, the illicit and the mystical, all of which are components of human love with which many of us can identify. So what’s the difference between them, and what defines which love poem fits with each meaning?

Latest blog posts about Arab love
Valentines day – Arabian times: forget cards, chocolates and flowers - In days of old, Arab love was tied up with symbolism! Arabic girls started the trend of sending love knots to express romantic feelings to their husbands or simply to the guy they were interested in. Then the trend caught on and Arab men joined in the fun. Getting a love knot from an Arab lover or partner was (and still is) a classic symbol of never ending true love or a way of transporting secret message that nobody else could understand or undo. Today, Arab love knots are still used as a universal amorous symbol of amour by Arabs and lovers from all walks, the world over.
