A New Day in Old Sana’a is a film that shows you the Yemen like it’s never been seen before by most international audiences. This moving film by Bader-Ben Hirsi tackles topical issues such as love and marriage with tenderness, tact and grace. Lead character Tariq is due to be married via the traditional family-set-up, but he falls in love with a mysterious and enigmatic woman he sees dancing in the street. Tradition, custom and values are all thrown into turmoil in Tariq’s mind. As fate would have it, the path of leading actor and actress also followed the path of true love, and they are now happily married!
