In 2007 Muslim clerics from the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in Amman, Jordan sent an historic 29-page letter for peace and unity to the Vatican. The letter, addressed to Pope Benedict XVI, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams and 25 other named Christian leaders travelled from Jordan across the world through many hands. “A Common Word between Us and You” represents the first time so many illustrious Muslim figures have come together to make a public call for peace and mutual understanding between Muslims and Christians.
