The UAE Marriage Fund has been around for 27 years, and was an initiative of the Emirates’ founder, who saw the side affects of international progress affecting his country and people and wanted to ensure that UAE nationals had the means to marry and therefore secure a future for the population. The Marriage Fund may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it does offer around 3000 grants a year to help UAE nationals marry and sponsors group weddings. In many ways, it's a traditional answer to a modern problem of globalization, but to some, particularly in the poorer, Northern Emirates, it makes the world of difference.
