Bangladeshi banker and economist Muhammad Yunus is one special guy. The first Bangladeshi and the third Bengali ever to win the Nobel Peace Prize. He developed the concept of microcredit to give loans to Bengali and other third world entrepreneurs too poor to qualify for traditional bank loans. The Grameen Bank (or Village Bank) he founded to give credit to Bangladeshis, earned him and the bank the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize. A humble and dedicated Bangladeshi man, Yunus used part of his award money to create a company that makes low-cost, high-nutrition food for the poor; and the rest to setting up an eye hospital for the poor in Bangladesh.
