Some girls dream of not going to school, others dream of nothing better. For 20% of girls in Tajikistan in 2006, school was a pipe-dream; barred from education by poverty, their presence needed at home or for seasonal farm work. But thanks to a life-skills education programme introduced in poorer areas of Tajikistan by UNICEF and the Tajik Ministry for Education, girls get a chance to learn valuable skills, obtain an education and increase their confidence.
