Islamic since the 7th century, Somalia is a country on the horn of Africa. Many Somalis feel that being a Muslim is central to their national identity. Dating in the Western sense isn’t practised in Somalia, but as traditions mellow and evolve with time, tide and technology, young urban couples often meet at university, work, or social gatherings and persuade their parents to bless and help initiate a courtship.
