I have always admired this woman for many reasons. In my opinion, she has it all. She has a loving family, a caring husband and wonderful children. She is educated and respected. She is beautiful and classy yet humble. She has a full time job, helps people, and her generosity keeps on growing every day. To top all that, she is a queen. A queen in every sense. She is Rania. Queen Rania of Jordan.

The Queen of Hearts
I see her face everywhere. On magazines, newspapers… I hear her voice everywhere. On television, on the internet, on the radio… She does not just talk to people: she also listens to them, and this is what matters.
Rania openly talks about her life on her website, and I can’t help but wonder how one woman can take on all these roles at the same time.
By King Abdullah’s side, she works on improving the lives of all Jordanians. Together, they seek to build a modern Jordan and to develop the country both socially and economically while preserving its rich culture and traditions. Moreover, she is actively involved in ensuring women and children’s rights, in creating academic and work opportunities for the young generation, and in many more causes. She does not just help people in her country; she also travels the world and makes sure her voice is heard. Queen Rania of Jordan is also a mother of 4 young children. For her, being present in their lives is the most important job, and she admits that balancing the different requirements in her life is not easy but is not impossible.
A very modern monarch @ home and abroad
Queen Rania represents a truly modern queen in a world where communication and globalization go hand in hand. She has set up her own Facebook and Twitter accounts. Her Facebook page includes notes on what she’s up to and what she believes in. For those who are not familiar with Twitter, it is a microblogging website – a communication tool for family, friends and co-workers where they are allowed to post a message of 140 characters maximum in response to the question: What are you doing?

With Twitter, she can reach people, and they can reach her anywhere they are by checking out her profile. Queen Rania currently has 444,692 followers – people like you and me who are interested in staying updated on the Jordanian Queen’s daily activities and actions. She follows 37 people, including Oprah, Al Gore, Schwarzenegger, and Jamie Oliver and takes her time to personally reply to some of the messages sent to her.
One of her recent Twitter posts deals with the situation in Gaza: “If you ever doubted what happened, look in 2 the eyes of Gaza’s innocents; read their faces; listen to their voices. Make your own mind up.” Another post addresses children’s education: “This time, I want us to tweet together to get every child an education.”
Like any mother and wife, her family is the center of her universe, and talking about them comes naturally: “Caught up with friends, shopped with eldest son, children enjoyed a Peter Pan play, Legoland, motorcycle ride with hubby to the country…”
Rania was recently in Barcelona, Spain to watch the U2 concert with her kids. She commented: Just returned from Barcelona… All senses satiated; great music, art-drenched, food to fulfill any foodie, and culture around every corner. I live in Barcelona, and I did not know that the Jordanian queen, the woman I look up to, was here a few days ago. I would have loved to meet her on the street. Even knowing that she was here the time she was would have satisfied me. Thankfully, I’ll be following her on Twitter to find out when she’s next in town.
