Bengali Girls: The Insiders’ Scoop
As I’m not a Bengali girl and infact, I’ve never been to Bengal (although I’d love to), I logged on to infocera’s guide to Dating tips for a Bengali Girl to get the low-down on what charms young ladies in the region.
Apparently, like in many other parts of the world, first impressions in Bengal are make or break. According to the guide, breakfast at Flurry’s is always a winner – this old British style café with its piping hot coffee and mouth watering choc-chip muffins is a sure bet for “brownie points” with a Bengali girl (sorry, that was a bad joke!)
Bengali girls love romantic gestures, so take a small present or some flowers with you and remember to talk the talk as well as walking the walk. Guys: do your homework – find out a little bit about her and look lovingly into her eyes when you talk to her. Bengali ladies are a blend of brains and beauty, so what you say, counts!
Phase Two (or Three or Four)
If your first date went well, and your Bengali girl (friend) wants to see you again, there are a few great places you can go to talk and get to know each other better. CCD or Barista are apparently “safe” options where you can chat in warm surroundings. Judge for yourself – if things are really going well and Cupid’s arrow is pointed directly at you both, you could try Gange Ghats, which is a more intimate setting, and will permit you to hold hands.
Most Bengali girls (and guys) love the arts and the finer things in life such as theatre, music and good food. (There’s a handy tip for what to talk about!)
The Nandan Theatre is famed for being the crème de la crème of romantic havens. If this is a little far out of your budget – hit the movie theatre instead. Whatever you do, chaps – never forget that chivalry maketh man and be a gentleman! Hold open doors, pay the bill and wait to be invited before gently taking a hand or offering a kiss.
The Food of Love
Hyatt in Kolkata is the hot tip if you want to whisk your Bengali girl off for a romantic dinner – the candle-lit swimming pool will add the perfect touch to any romantic evening. Again, if you’re looking for a more economical option, you could try the Roxy at The Park. With its soothing music and trendy décor serves as the perfect place for you and your Bengali sweetheart to get to know each other better
Got any hot tips on where to take a girl in Bengal? We’d love to hear them.
