There are 650,000 Juba Arabs living along Somalia's Western border, and a further 275,000 over the border in Ethiopia. Originally from the Arabian Peninsula, this small, almost forgotten tribe speaks Maay, an Arabic dialect and survives on the sparse Somali landscape by farming, mainly for coffee. The Juba is tribe is Sunni Muslim and can be identified by their clothing, huts and daily ritual of coffee time with the family and community.
