Canada’s Arab population is diverse, fascinating and here to stay. Most Canadian Arabs were born abroad, and emigrated from Lebanon, Syria, Algeria and a whole host of other countries during the past two decades. Talking the talk and walking the walk appear to come naturally to Canada’s Arabs, many of who have become active community members and fluent English and/or French speakers. Not all Canadian Arabs are Muslims; Christians also make up around half of this ever-growing and ever-flourishing immigrant community that has embraced the maple leaf with open arms and enhanced Canada’s rich and diverse cultural tapestry.
